For more than 40 years, Carol A. Peters, Esq. has represented diverse clients throughout Los Angeles County in civil and probate Court matters. An elder law attorney in Pasadena, California, with more than 11 years of prior experience making welfare eligibility benefit determinations at DPSS/Dept of Public Social Services for Medi-Cal (California’s Medic-Aid program) and other public assistance cases, she serves as a counselor at law (providing confidential advice 1:1) or as a representative (i.e., “mouthpiece” to third parties and the Court). To reduce conflict, she can serve as Trust Protector or as an Expert Witness about Fiduciary Duty and public benefit issues. Having taught on-line for 6 years for California State University in Fullerton, she was a member of the “Working Group” designing the original ethics and education standards for California’s Professional Fiduciaries Bureau (mandatory licensing by the Dept of Consumer Affairs) and has presented at past PFAC conferences and meetings.
